Woman Who Helped Hide Vanessa Guillén’s Body Pleads Guilty

A Texas woman who helped mutilate and conceal the body of a Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen pleaded guilty to federal charges Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Cecily Aguilar, 24 years old helped the man who killed Guillen Hideher, hid the body and lied to investigators. Guillen was 20 years old and an army specialist. She was last seen alive in Fort Hood, Texas on April 22, 2020. Her dismembered remains were found two months later. The soldier who was suspected for killing her, Aaron Ribbinson, fatally shot himself as police moved to arrest him. Authorities have said Aguiar was Ribbinsons girlfriend. Aguilar pleaded tuesday for a count of accessory to murder and three accounts of false statement. If she’s convicted, she will face up to 30 years in prison.
