If you don’t know who Chloe Bailey is, you’re about to because of the amazing debut performance she gave at the Video Music Awards this week! She performed her new song “Have Mercy” on the stage, with the help of back up dancers and a show stopping outfit.

Don’t be surprised though, Chloe has already had experience in the music industry with her younger sister, Halle Bailey. Under the name Chloe x Halle, they released their own albums “The kids are Alright” and “Ungodly Hour”. The latter of the two albums is what boosted their music into fame; their hit single “Do it” earning them their first Billboard hot 100 hit, and peaking 63 worldwide. After the success of this, fans were waiting for news of more music when Bailey released the news she was doing a solo album and performing at the VMA’s.

The sent Chloe x Halle fans into a frenzy, all of them excited and some nervous to see how the singer would fare doing a solo performance. The singer built up the suspense and hype around the event on all her social media platforms, her sister doing the same to show her support.

When the event finally came, it started off with Bailey’s sister doing a tribute, and then out walked Bailey with a hot pink corset and blond locs to match. The performance blew everyone away, her previous and new fans taking to social media to express their excitement.

The artist says in the aftermath how this is only a taste of her new music, and there’s an album and other projects for her in the future. After what she showed at the VMA’s, it’s safe to say that she should be on your radar as a Pop music heavy hitter.
