The 2022 Met Gala took place on Monday May 2 and many of the celebrities left their fans stunned with their attires.

Kim Kardashian happens to be one of these celebrities. Kardashian arrived at the Met Gala after transforming into Marylin Monroe herself. 

When Kardashian thought about the theme of the event she stated, “I thought to myself, what would I have done for the American theme if it had not been the Balenciaga look? What’s the most American thing you can think of? And that’s Marilyn Monroe.”

Kardashian stepped onto the red carpet wearing the dress Monroe wore to serenade President John F. Kennedy on his 45th birthday in 1962. The dress itself is a skin-tight gown that is adorned with over 6,000 crystals and is one of Monroe’s most iconic looks.
