“Don’t Worry Darling” Movie Review

After watching the film “Don’t Worry Darling” directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh this week during a premiere event. Here is my honest review of the highly-anticipated film.

As an avid fan of Harry Styles recent acting career and Pugh’s in “Black Widow,” seeing the two stars costar in the same film is extremely intriguing. They are both extremely gifted and their chemistry was believable.

The visuals themselves were fantastic. The different shots and lighting perfectly set the tone of the film and played into the shock factor.

The “plot twist” at the end was well-done, however it felt predictable. The beginning of the film is “too perfect” and any observant audience member knows something is coming.

Olivia Wilde’s film also lacks the proper title of a “horror” movie – there was little in it that was gory or frightening.

The plot was extremely predictable – the living-in-a-simulation trope is rather overdone in modern culture now and has lost the ability to be chilling and terrifying.

Overall, the film visuals and acting talent was incredible and well worth seeing solely for that reason. However, do not expect to be amazed by the plot, it lacked the right depth to be memorable.

“Don’t Worry Darling” will appear in theaters Sept. 23
