The 65th Grammy Music Awards occurred over the weekend with many surprise wins. One such shocking win is Harry Styles’s Album of the Year. Nominated among many top artists such as Beyonce, fans expected her “Renaissance” album to take the prize. 

Superfan Reina presented Styles with the award to a mixed crowd of boos and cheers. Taylor Swift was one of few who openly supported Styles’ win. People quickly took to the Internet to complain about Beyonce’s loss, but many defended Harry Styles’s win because his album had major success on Spotify and Billboard’s Hot 100.

Styles had six nominations Sunday night and had previously won Best Pop Solo Performance for “Watermelon Sugar.” He has come far in his career from an “X-Factor” boy-band to his glamorous solo career after One Direction’s success. 

Harry Styles is currently on a sold-out tour for  “Harry’s House” and performed “As It Was” at the Grammys.
