“Harry Potter” HBO Max Reboot Is Creating Backlash

There is a possible “Harry Potter” reboot in the works with HBO Max creating and streaming the series. Nearly a decade after the popular “Harry Potter” films were released, various other adaptations have been created based on J.K. Rowling’s Potterverse. “The Cursed Child” play and novel and “Fantastic Beasts” are just a few franchises that grew in popularity based on the beloved child wizard’s book series.

However, fans have expressed their dislike of the possible reboot. They claim it has not been long enough to need a revival. They also state that the existing films are already a loyal adaptation to the books and there is no need for a remake without the iconic actors.

Additionally, author J.K. Rowling has been under fire the past few years due to transphobic comments on her Twitter. Fans have refused to support her even if they love the series. Therefore, making her a director of the HBO reboot would only anger fans and harm possible success.
