Fashion at King Charles III’s Coronation

King Charles’s coronation occurred last weekend. Royals from all over the world came together to celebrate the king. Here are some of our favorite looks from the event:

King Charles wore many different crowns during his coronation , including the Imperial State Crown 1937 detailed with over 2,800 diamonds, about a dozen emeralds, 200 pearls and sapphires. His wife, Queen Camilla wore a white coat dress and underskirt designed by Bruce Oldfield. She paired the outfit with silk shoes made by Elliot Zed.

There was also a lot of symbolism within her outfit, including the gold embroidery which indicated her and her husband’s love for nature. She also had a detail of a flower on her skirt which symbolized the U.K.’s four nations. The elder son of the king, Prince William, arrived in a formal robe, making it clear of his role as Colonel of the Welsh Guard. Princess Kate of Wales looked ravishing in an ivory silk crepe dress designed by Alexander McQueen, a formal robe and a floral crown made by Jess Collet and McQueen.

While there were many looks, those were just a few that did not disappoint. Although the event was met with some rain, the event went rather smoothly.
