The Tri-University tour was held at the Chandler Center for The Arts and featured Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona. At the event, the colleges informed all of the students and their families about the opportunities and resources they will have attending their schools.

At the tour, the colleges and their respective representatives talked about the scholarships they have to offer. One of those mentioned was the Presidents Tuition Scholarship that NAU offers. The scholarship is valued at $32,000 which equals out to $8,000 a year! Ryker Talbott (12) said, “when they mentioned this, immediately I was more drawn to NAU.” NAU certainly showed off at the tour and the students who attended are more interested in them now.

The event definitely sparked some interest for those who attended. Hearing about all of the opportunities and internships people could take part in really increased their excitement for college. James Barker (12) said, “I didn’t have much interest in college but after I attended the Tri-University Tour, I really felt motivated to go.” ASU, NAU, and U of A displayed all of the opportunities future students could get from each of their different schools. Actually hearing about them from the representatives made it more real and convincing.

For most people, it’s the financial aspect of college that really steers them away from it. Nick Smith (12) said, “I really want to attend college, but I don’t want to be in debt for the rest of my life.” Money and taking out loans really scare people and make college less appealing. However, at the tour people learned about all of the scholarships they could earn. No matter who you are or where you come from, there’s a scholarship for you. They range from a lot of money to a little bit, but at least it’s something to help out.

The Tri-University tour featuring Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona was a great way to learn more about those colleges. If you want to find out more about those colleges, scholarships, opportunities, etc. then attend the tour. There are still more events coming up in August and September so be sure to look it up and find a date that works for you!
