On September 20th, from four to six p.m. at the Hamilton Football practice field, the annual homecoming carnival is being held. There will be carnival games, a club expo, inflatables, food trucks, dunk your teacher, and more! There is also a talent show during the carnival that students can audition to perform in. It’s a super fun experience and a great way to get hyped up for homecoming and the football game against Mountain Pointe.

If you are interested in performing at the homecoming carnival’s talent show be sure to sign up outside of room E108 and go to the cafeteria after school at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 9th. You must sign up by September 4th in order to be eligible to audition. “I would recommend auditioning, it’s definitely an experience,” says Lanya Scott (10). She sang at the homecoming carnival last year, along with many others. The talent show is a great way to perform in front of an audience and have fun with those around you.

“The carnival is an event to celebrate homecoming, before the football game. Clubs fundraise, and it’s really fun,” said Mrs. Richards (teacher). This year there is a new twist with the club expo. Clubs are able to fundraise and spread the word about what they do and their end goal. They sell tickets and also hold different activities and games that students can participate in.

“Some of the food trucks we are trying to get are Dutch bros, Ginger Monkey, and one for desserts. Last year we had 10 people performing so this year we are picking 8 to 12 people. This carnival has been going on for over five years, it’s a tradition. We have games and inflatables, for teens and little kids. It’s my first year leading, but I was apart of the homecoming committee last year,” said Brendan Manning (12), head of the homecoming committee. There will also be a dunk your teacher booth that costs one dollar. The participating teachers are Bartlett, Burkhart, Weeks, Kenyon, Nipar, and Mattix.

Be sure to sign up to audition for the talent show if you are interested and be sure to show up September 20th for the Homecoming Carnival! Bring some money and be ready to have fun! Show your support for Hamilton be there!
