Last week on December 4th-6th, HDC and the Advanced and Intermediate dance held their annual “Home for the Holidays” dance show in the auditorium. Both shows were at 7 pm but the doors opened at 6:30 pm. The performers were full of energy and got people into the Christmas spirit during each performance.

During the show, there were some challenges along the way, especially with an injury or other complications. “I’m in a boot so dancing for me was a little bit of a struggle but I still managed to pull through,” said Joelie Joot (10). Choosing to dance even with an injury takes a lot of courage and strength. The show was still full of energy and cheer, despite this injury. They performed many different Christmas songs, some known and some new. “My favorite part is creating a family and working so hard and finally paying it off by performing on stage. I love performing. It went good actually. We had our ups and downs but overall it was really good.” Samantha Palmquist (10) stated. “I came to support the girls since I participated last year and they did awesomely,” said Sophia Snyder (11). Old performers came to cheer on this year’s girls and they were full of compliments and good things to say.

Next school year, take a dance class or try out for HDC, participate in next year’s holiday show, or buy a ticket and support the dance teams here at Hamilton! It’s an awesome way for the participants to show off what they have learned so far and showcase it for their peers. So make sure to come out and support your peers at the next HDC dance show!
