Starting Friday and ending on Sunday, a competition was held at ASU for the Speech and Debate club. The contest held over 123 schools; ranging to a total of 1444 students! Yet, that’s not even the most exciting news. Hamilton took first place and came out as the school with the overall most points! When asked about the results Mrs. Meade said this, “I am really proud of the way the team competed. Their sportsmanship was excellent.” Ria Manathkar (11) a captain in the Lincoln Douglas category was really happy with her results. She was able to get into the octo finals and made the fourth speaker. “I’m very happy with my event,” she said, “also with Hamilton as a whole. We placed first!” Lastly, Ria wanted to say “I’m very happy with Hamilton’s ability in balancing both Speech and Debate.” Make sure to congratulate any Speech and Debate students you know; including Mrs. Meade in room C219!
