The Troubled School Shooter

Nick Kier

On Nov. 14, 2022, in Charlottesville, Va. 22- year-old Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. shot and killed three students one of which was sleeping in his bed and the other two in a school bus coming back from a field trip.  The Washington Post did a now deleted cover story on the tragic event. The headline reads as follows, “suspect U-Va. gunman, Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., 22, had a troubled childhood, but then flourished.” Now if you’re like me you must be wondering what part of the last 24 hours of that article being released did he flourish. Maybe it was when he murdered a sleeping man or maybe it was when he gunned down two other coming home from a field trip.

Now why would The Washington Post praise a school shooter, it doesn’t make any sense, what about this Darnell Jones is different from other school shooters, different in the way that this didn’t get national coverage, different in the way that he was regarded as a flourishing student after having a troubled childhood.

Besides the obvious reason why do countless news outlets refer to Darnell as the alleged shooter and not the sick man who murdered three people.  The Washington Post is still referring to the accused and suspect like it’s some mystery who did it. Right now we’re seeing that the mainstream media cares more about an agenda than actual facts.
