Boys Soccer kicked off their season on tuesday night losing to Corona Del Sol three to one with the only goal coming from yours truly, general staff member for your journalism team, Chris Kontos (12). He said, “It was an exhilarating experience scoring the first goal of the season. I felt like I got the monkey off my back and I have an extreme amount of confidence going into the rest of the season.”

Players on the team were surprised by his goal because he was one of the players nobody would expect to score. It wasn’t enough though with Corona scoring three goals after that. Senior midfielder Josh Drack (12) said, “We played hard but it wasn’t good enough. Moving forward we need to work on keeping the ball and taking our chances on shots.”

Nicholas Moots (11) added, “We have a lot of talent this year and what happened on tuesday won’t happened again.”

One game will not define their season. They are still one of the top teams in state and plan to take back the title, being the first team to go back to back in the school’s history.
