As the school year comes to an end, the stress of AP tests and finals come with it. From May 6th to May 17th, Hamilton students will  take these massive tests that will determine if they would get college credit for the courses they took this year. This is a very stressful time for most students, especially if they are taking multiple AP tests.

Steven Hamming (11) is a junior this year and is taking three AP tests: Chemistry, Psychology, and English. He said that “I feel like I’ve prepared enough for my tests, I really only had to worry about Chemistry because that’s my hardest class.” It takes a lot of hard work to even take and AP class, and it is all in preparation for the big tests in May. In order to prepare, students spend countless hours studying, reviewing, and practicing content and skills needed to get a high score on the AP tests. Charlene Bernabe (11) shared that she “spent a lot of time at Starbucks, studying for my tests. I really want to get a 5 on all of them, so I put a lot of time into preparing.” Charlene is taking four AP tests: Chemistry, Spanish, English, and Psychology.

With AP tests still occurring, students are spending all their time preparing and stressing over getting their desired score. While this time of the year gets hectic, it is also a time slowing down and preparing for finals exams and projects. Sydney Case (11) expressed that “there’s a lot going on right now in my classes with presentations and final review and it’s pretty stressful.” During these difficult times, it’s important to remember to take deep breaths and try hard!
