Refugee Home’s Hygiene Drive

Refugee Home’s Hygiene drive is being held from September 6 through September 20. There are bins to place hygiene objects such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, or toothpaste in the front lobby. Other items, though, are accepted and taped on the front of the bins.

Refugee Home is a club sponsored by Colleen Mendoza and led by the two presidents, Manvi Harde & Ria Manathker. They meet weekly on Tuesday from 2:15 to 3:15 in E219, and anyone can join. Their main goal is to raise funds and provide for the refugees. “Refugee Home is a club that works on raising awareness, we put together events and drives to support the refugees near us,” said Ria Manathker (11). They want to bring attention to the refugees that need support but may be afraid to ask for it or not know how to. “We are hoping to host a drive like this one or a big volunteer event a few times each quarter,” said Manvi Harde (11).

“Our main goal is to help the refugees by providing them with necessities and a place to live, we sometimes even help move them in,” said Sra. Mendoza. Be sure to support Refugee Home and participate in their drives and fundraisers! A little goes a long way, and it’s a great act of community support.
