Harry Styles said himself while in One Direction that he didn’t dance nor could dance. However, fans were pleasantly surprised when Styles released a new music unannounced with dancing involved!

On New Year’s Day, Styles released a music video for  “Treat People With Kindness”, a song on his most recent album, “Fine Line.” What many fans didn’t expect was that he performed a beautiful choreographed dance with Phoebe Waller-Bridge. In the past, fans saw Styles dancing by doing the worm or macarena. In the “Best Song Ever” music video, the One Direction boys performed a dance with many self-made moves they created over time. However, this was the first time fans have seen Harry do a proper choreographed dance. Paul Roberts, who has worked with all the One Direction boys said, “I think somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew this could be something special.”

After the music video was released, fans were already on their toes to learn the dance and post their version on Youtube or TikTok. Many dancers even made a tutorial for the choreography to help other fans to learn. But what many fans don’t know is that even Styles himself had to practice daily in order to memorize the choreography. Before the video shoot, there was a five week rehearsal which was way more time than they would usually get. “He was amazingly devoted to the whole thing. He’d be shooting the Watermelon Sugar promo in Malibu and they’d wrap up at 8pm but he’d get in a car and come to the studio and we’d rehearse until gone midnight.” Roberts explained. Phoebe wasn’t at the same place as Harry, she was in Canada shooting a movie. So, Paul sent his assistant to work with Phoebe. Nonetheless, both Harry and Phoebe were very committed to making the music video as best as they could.

Even though Harry said himself that he doesn’t dance, I think we can all agree he is pretty good at it. From the “Best Song Ever” dance to the “Treat People With Kindness” choreography, we can all say that Harry loves to dance even if he won’t admit it himself.
