As of Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2021 the state of Arizona has reported 1,934 new cases of COVID-19 and 71 additional deaths. This is the fourth largest death report of September. While COVID cases are relatively high in comparison to the rest of September, they have drastically decreased since January. In January, 66 percent of hospital beds were Covid patients while now only 31 percent of beds are designated for Covid. The statewide dashboard also showed that 57.4 percent, or 4,127,406 of people in the state have gotten one dose of the vaccine and 50.8 percent, or 3,649,311 people, are fully vaccinated. Due to the Delta variant, all federal health organizations strongly recommend getting vaccinated and maintaining social distancing.
