There are many benefits to taking this exam. For example, it allows students scholarship opportunities as a high score on the exam can result in qualification in the National Merit Scholarship Competition leading to the possibility of acquiring thousands of dollars as well as seats at prestigious universities. Additionally, it gives students practice and exposure to similar questions given on the SAT which is the Scholastic Aptitude Test that many colleges look over and consider when selecting students. Lastly, it greatly improves student’s test taking skills. To prepare for the PSAT/NMSQT exam, students are encouraged to take online practice tests available on Khan Academy and College Board.
