Partial Lunar Eclipse Nov. 18 – 19, 2021

The best astronomical event for November is finally here. A partial lunar eclipse of the moon will take place on the night of November 18 – 19. Although this eclipse is technically a partial eclipse, it will very much look like a total lunar eclipse at maximum when 97.42 percent of the moon will be immersed in the Earth’s shadow. This is the longest partial lunar eclipse of the 21st century. The umbral portion will last three hours and 28 minutes and the whole eclipse will last six hours and two minutes. The entire eclipse will be completely visible from Arizona weather permitting.

Note: Daylight saving time is not taken into account as Arizona does not observe DST

Eclipse times are in Mountain Standard Time:

Penumbral Eclipse Starts at 11:02 P.M.

Partial Eclipse Starts at 12:19 A.M.

Maximum Eclipse is at 2:03 A.M.

Partial Eclipse Ends at 3:47 A.M.

Penumbral Eclipse Ends at 5:04 A.M.
