A $6 Million grant has been pledged to Arizona Universities in an attempt to increase cybersecurity,

Although the program has been around for years, additional funding from Arizona’s Technology and Research Initiative Fund will support three of Arizona’s public universities.

The director of cyber intelligence and information operations Jason Denno said on Arizona News: “We’re trying to make a fundamental impact on the security posture of the U.S.”

Students in the cyber operations program learn to take on a role known as “bad actors.” These are cybersecurity threats that students must mimic to better understand; eventually defending against any attacks.

Everyone will know that the pandemic required more use of the internet and being online. It is important that Arizona is taking the steps to secure cyber security for the following years.
