Art Classes Enrollment In CUSD Affected By the Pandemic

Arts enrollment across CUSD schools went down from the school year 2019-2020 to 2020-2021.

The pandemic brought changes, some bigger than others, into our lives. Every minor thing was changed including the percentage of arts enrollment. In the school year 2019-2020, arts enrollment was at 77 percent. When the pandemic started during the school year 2020-2021, arts enrollment dropped to 60 percent. There was also a study that came out which showed that 20 percent of all charter schools did not have access to arts courses. Usually, art classes come out at the top of the most enrolled classes but now, the percentage is dropping. At least one art course or a vocational education course is required for a high school student to graduate.
