On April 11, 2022, Hamilton High School was recognized for being one of the top high schools in Arizona. 

High school is a place where students can explore what they want to do, look into extracurricular activities , and the ability to choose their own classes for what they are interested in learning. Getting into the best public high school is very important to parents and this may even cause people to move homes to get closer to a district that they want.  A company called Niche uses different factors to rank high schools in Arizona: 60 percent is based on academics; cultural diversity, parent/student surveys and teachers each make up 10 percent; and scores of clubs and activities, health/safety and resources/facilities make up 2.5 percent each. At #25 ranked in Arizona, there is Catalina Foothills High. At #22 ranked in Arizona, there is Hamilton High. At number one ranked in Arizona is Basis Oro Valley.
