November 14, 2022
A Tanzanian Precision Air plane has crashed into Lake Victoria in Tanzania with 39 passengers and 4 crew members. 19 passengers have been pronounced dead and 26 of 43 people have been rescued.
They had departed from Tanzania’s capital of Dar es Salaam and were heading towards the town of Bukoba. At 6 a.m. the plane had departed and was expected to land at 8:30 a.m. in Bukoba. The aircraft was about to land, but the suspected weather deteriorated causing it to reroute, landing near the shore of Bukoba airport runway.
Officials suspect that weather conditions must’ve been the cause of this accident, heavy rainfall and wind had been happening at the same time. Immediately after the crash the plane was almost completely submerged in the water.
