Ice Storm in Texas

An ice storm in Texas this week is crippling roads, closing schools and canceling flights.

The freezing rain began to fall on Monday. It’s expected to last through Thursday morning. The freezing ice will stretch all the way from Texas to Oklahoma, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kentucky. Some areas have already seen one to two inches of sleet on top of a glaze ice.

This creates a traffic problem for all the drivers. By Tuesday evening the ice will be falling in Austin and Dallas, Texas. The ice could weigh down power lines and trees.

Officials are warning Texans to be prepared for power outages. The state should prepare for severe weather or the rest of the week.

It’s been said that Texas could even get flash floods through Wednesday and Thursday.
