Earthquake Hits Syria & Turkey

There have been earthquakes in Turkey as well as Syria. Rescuers search desperately for survivors after devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Concerns also grew for some of the region’s most historic sites. The United States Cultural Agency said that they are growing out a survey about who and in what areas are the most damaged. Ancient sites have also been badly affected. For example, the ancient Syrian city of Aleppo has been badly affected.

In Turkey, several buildings in the Kurdish majority city of Diyarbakir in the country’s southeast have collapsed. It’s leaving a lot of fear for other world heritage sites. The total deaths in  the effect of the earthquake has climbed up to 5261 as many as 23 million people including around 14 million children, have been affected by the earthquake. This is according to the World Health Organization. Many are seeking donations as well.
