February 22, 2023
Three students were killed and five other students were injured by a gunman who opened fire at an academic building at the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing on Monday night.
Police searched for hours to find the person who was responsible for the shooting. After hours, police found the 43-year-old suspect dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound off campus. His name was Anthony McRae.
All five of the injured students are in the hospital and in critical conditions. Ewing public schools are closed on Tuesday out of an abundance of caution, police say. No threats have been found. Police also say school is expected to reopen on Wednesday. Police also added that McRae had a lot of mental health issues.
