At what appears to be the downfall of the popular social media app Twitter, Elon Musk still appears to have high hopes in keeping the software alive and well. Musk recently bought the platform for $44 billion and he definitely has been making his mark. Previously known as the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk is a household name; notable for being the richest man in the world.

As most social media platforms are run, Twitter is open to the public, meaning anyone who wants to make an account can. Not to mention, they can make whatever type of account they desire. Obviously, this had led to a plethora of strange accounts popping up all over the software, but one in particular stuck out to HQ ultimately leading to a suspension of service. The account handled @ElonJet is notorious for tracking the location of legend Elon Musks’ private jet. It has enumerated nearly half a million followers and faced suspension Wednesday morning.

This isn’t the first encounter musk and HQ has had with this account. On Nov. 6, 2022, Musk himself tweeted, My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk.” This insinuated that Musk was not concerned with the account. It was stated by the ElonJet account manager Jack Sweeney that Musk offered him $5000 to take down the account ahead of the anticipated yet unexpected suspension. Musk has yet to comment on this and the account is facing suspension until further notice.
