In Kevin Askeland’s article “Top 25 high school baseball dynasties since 2009” he ranks Hamilton as the number one team, a big part of this being the fact that the Huskies have won three state championships since 2009 (2017, 2016, 2014). They have the best accumulative ranking since 2009 with a total of ranking of 635, with the second ranked team being Orange Lutheran with a overall ranking of 811.

The 2018-19 Hamilton Baseball team is off to a fiery start to the year! From March 2 through March 15 the Huskies pulled off eight straight victories. Of these eight wins, the Huskies had monstrous performances against Pinnacle (15-5), Basic (10-4), and Mountain Vista (12-1). As of April 1, 2019 they are 14-4 and are off to a blazing start to Conference Play with two straight wins versus Basha (10-4 and 10-0). The Huskies Head Coach Mike Woods was asked how the team was playing and what he expects from the rest of the season ,stating “They’ve played good so far. They have had good chemistry and I look forward to them to keep growing with their chemistry and I expect us to win another State Championship.” The Huskies finish out the season with games against Perry, rival Chandler, Desert Ridge, Brophy College Prep, Mountain Ridge, and Desert Vista.

Pitcher Ryan Figeruoa (11) was asked who he was most excited to face exclaiming “Varsity lost to Chandler twice last year so we are looking for revenge on them.” The Huskies could get their revenge as the Wolves of Chandler are on a three game skid as of April 1, 2019. 1st Base/Catcher Tyler Wilson (11) added “I’m excited to play Mountain Ridge because they beat us in the playoffs last year. This Huskies team has been solid throughout their season; with playoffs being around the corner that will be the beast that the Husky boys will have to dig into that inner strength of the previous Husky title teams if they want to accomplish that same fate.

Make sure to come out and support your Huskies as they attempt to add to the Husky legacy with another championship! They have upcoming home games 4/4 against Chandler, 4/16 against Brophy, 4/19 against Mountain Ridge, and 4/22 against Desert Vista. Thank you to all the fans for all the support you give our Huskies!
