A number four ranking isn’t all that the Hamilton girls tennis team is capable of. With six consecutive wins in a row for the varsity girls under their belt, they have now improved to a 10-2 over all. Desert Mountain, Xavier Prep, and Chaparral lead the girls tennis bracket, but with Hamilton’s consecutive win streak there is no way these girls will suffer a loss.

After coming home from a huge win from varsity over the number six team, Perry, the girls prepared for the next one. On April 3rd Hamilton’s tennis team was ready as ever to keep their winning streak going with an away game versus Highland. As expected both varsity and JV racked up another huge win securing an overall of 10-2. JV had an 8-1 victory and varsity had a 9-0 victory. Katie Dussault (12) is playing her last year of tennis and explains “So far the season has gone pretty well! We have a win/loss record of 10-2 and are currently ranked #4 in the state. This past weekend we competed in and won the CUSD Invitational (which was a tournament against 6 other valley schools).” As for her and the rest of the team this season is one for the books. She still has more to accomplish before the season ends. Another senior, Anisha Agarwal, says, “the season has been amazing so far, I love how our team is so close knit like a family! I think that because we are such good friends it helps us with our game out on the courts as well. I think we have the skill and we have the best coaches and players to be number one, we just need to also have the confidence to do so!” The team has a number of amazing seniors who have high hopes for the rest of the season. With them all being so close together and a family it makes it easier for them to perform. With little games left these girls are bound for great things. Finish off the season sting huskies!
