With the launch of the 2019-2020 school year, we see the start of Hamilton Fall Sports. It begins in late August with Swim and Dive, Golf, Badminton, Girls Volleyball, and (of course) Football!

Last year, our players displayed a disappointing season to say the least for the Hamilton varsity football team. After ending the season with a 3-7 overall record, the team is ready to become the championship team they know they are capable of being. Senior wide receiver and outside linebacker Brenden Rice (12) emphasized on how their mindset going into this season is to “improve as a unit and to become more united as a team.” In addition, Brenden hopes that this year they can “build off of every single game” so they can eventually become state title contenders. As one of the teams leaders this year, Brenden knows that he wants to become “more vocal and make sure everyone is performing their best.” The Huskies kick off their season on August 23rd at 7pm, against Chaparral High.

New faces of leadership and a new mindset is the big thing for Girls Volleyball. Newly appointed senior captain Bailey Williams (12), commented on their team expectations for the new season. She stated that, “we want to use last year as fuel to improve the team’s mentality and to reach our goal of state champions.” After a heartbreaking loss in the semifinals against Mountain Pointe last year, Girls Volleyball is ready to improve their team dynamic and “fight to the finish” this season. Their first game is September 5th at home against the Highland Hawks. Remember, go to the games and support our Huskies!

Both Boys and Girls Golf will kick off their season by heading up the West Valley to compete in their first tournaments on August 23rd. Both teams saw relative success last year, and hope to continue that trend into this season! Girls Badminton will be looking to avenge a tough state championship loss to Perry last year, after completing one of their best seasons in school history. They will be led by returning twin seniors Abby and Thalia Liu. Swim and Dive has already had their introductory meeting, and will begin tryouts and practices soon. They also had a successful season last year, and will look to keep it up this year!
