Boys and Girls Soccer Get Back on Track with Shutout Wins

The Hamilton Boys Soccer Team traveled to Alhambra High School during winter break and ended the game with a tie against the Lions by a final score of 2-2. Sophomore midfielders, Luke Schaefer and Josh Martinez, both lead the team with one goal on the night. Although the game ended in a tie, Jacob Gonzales (12) still believes that “the boys can only get better from here.” The team was, fortunately, able to pull out a strong victory against the Westwood Warriors this past Friday by a final score of 3-0. Shacafer continued to make big plays for Hamilton as he leads the team with one goal and one assist on the night. The boys were able to redeem themselves on defense as well as senior goalkeeper, Tracey Angeli, had three saves for the Huskies. Christopher Esparza (12) commented on the performance of the team as he was “ecstatic the boys were able to get back on track against the Warriors.” The Boys Soccer Team will look to take on the Browne Bruins this Tuesday, January 14th, at 6:00 pm. 

The Hamilton Girls Soccer Team went up against the Chaparral Firebirds during winter break and ended the game with a final score of 1-1. Senior Goalkeeper, Asia Hart, played terrific defense for the Huskies as she only allowed one goal and had ten saves on the night. The girls managed to get back on track the following game as they shut out the Alhambra Lions by a final score of 8-0. Junior forward and player of the game, Katie Nedved, helped lead the team with two goals on the night. Chris Esparaza (12) was impressed by the girls’ third shutout win of the year and hopes that the team can “continue to build more momentum for the rest of the season.” The Girls Soccer Team will be at home this Tuesday, January 14th, at 6:00 pm, in hopes of repeating last year’s performance against Browne High School where they dominated the Bruins by a final score of 21-0. #GoHuskies!
