Adrian Galindo drives against Perry

The Boys Varsity basketball team lost their first game that was on Jan. 19. The game was a home game against the Perry Pumas and by the end of the game the score was at 57-47. While this game was close last year’s game against the Pumas, the Huskies won their away game by a score of 58-50. However, the Huskies get the chance to make it up when they take on the Pumas once again on Feb.5. Before then they have to take on five more competitors, one of them being the  Brophy Broncos, the competitors that they will take on next this coming Friday, Jan.22. When it comes to the Broncos they won their first game against Valley Vista High school with a score of 57-41. While the Broncos may be a tough opponent, in last year’s game the Huskies took over the court when they walked off victorious. The final score was at 41-34, the Huskies will for sure not let this game slip through their fingers.

Remember Huskies while playing of course under AIA COVID-19 regulations all players and coaches are expected  to wear a cloth mask for the entirety of a game. This also means that each school is required to complete the AIA COVID-19 Monitoring Form the day of all games. This also affects the spectators; I am sorry to say that there will be no spectators besides two parents or legal guardians per home team player. While it is unfortunate that you will not be able to cheer on your fellow Huskies, you can always wish them luck virtually. Have a great game Huskies!
