A Busy Week for Huskies Basketball

A Busy Week for Huskies Basketball

Connie Escobar

After an amazing winning streak, the Huskies Girls Basketball team faced their first loss against the Perry Pumas on Feb. 05, 2021.The score was very close, ending the game with a score of 56-46. While it comes to no surprise that the Husky nation was bummed, we knew the Huskies wouldn’t let this become a habit.

Soon after, the girls had an away game that took place on Feb. 09, 2021 against Xavier College Prep. This game was quite interesting where the Huskies walked off the court with a winning score of 66-47. What an amazing way to pick it up girls!

This week wasn’t called busy for nothing, because right after the game against Xavier Prep the girls found themselves facing off against the Jaguars from Desert Ridge on Feb. 10, 2021. Once everyone thought that the games couldn’t get any better the Lady Huskies dominated, once again, taking home a score of 52-32. There will be two more games this week for the girls which are both home games. One on Feb. 11, 2021 against the Mesa Jackrabbits and another on Feb. 12, 2021 against Valley Vista High School. Keep on dominating that court girls!

The Huskies Boys Basketball team finally got to play once again since their cancelled game against the Kofa Kings. The boys found themselves going up against the Brophy Broncos on Feb. 09, 2021. Sadly the boys lost this game with a final score of 50-42, a close score to say the least.

Next, the Boys team went up against the Jaguars from Desert Ridge High on Feb. 10, 2021. The Huskies and the Jaguars went at it on the court fighting for the winning score. They then walked off victorious with a final score of 59-54. The boys like the ladies, have an incredibly busy week with two more away games. The first one will be on Feb. 11, 2021 at Mesa High School, while the other will be at Valley Vista High on Feb.12, 2021.

While this week has been long for both of our teams they are going strong and aren’t backing down. Keep dominating that court and bring home those wins, best of luck Huskies!
