Boys and Girls Soccer Are Working Hard

Boys and Girls Soccer Are Working Hard

Briana McCauley

After the long and busy week of Feb. 7- Feb. 14, this past week most teams had an easy-going one. Girls Varsity, JV, and JV B team went against the Perry Pumas on Feb. 19, where they put up quite the fight. Starting off, JV B team showed the Pumas what the Huskies are all about and dominated with a 3-2 win. Sadly, Varsity lost 4-2 and JV lost 0-3, but watch out because these ladies won’t back down. On Feb. 22, Varsity played at home at 5:30 pm and crushed the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks with an 8-0 win. On Feb. 24, JV has an away game against the Chaparral Firebirds at 4 pm, good luck! JV B team originally had a game scheduled for Feb. 26 against the Boulder Creek Jaguars, but it was sadly cancelled. As of now, JV B team’s season is officially over. They played hard and, even if their overall was four losses and two wins, they played like it was nobody’s business. These athletes are still having practice and are working hard. Great job Huskies!

Moving on to the boys, they have quite a few games coming up. Varsity went against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks at home on Feb. 22 at 3:30 pm and won 1-0 including overtime, nice job Huskies! Both Varsity and JV play at home against the Chaparral Firebirds on Feb. 24 and Varsity plays at 6 pm and JV plays at 4 pm. Both teams will play against the Boulder Creek Jaguars at home on Feb. 26, best of luck Huskies! Boys JV B team’s  season is also over, ending with an overall seasonal score of  0-3. Even though they didn’t do as good as they hoped, they still worked hard and had fun. Go Huskies!
