A Wrap to Soccer

A Wrap to Soccer

Briana McCauley

Overall, both boys and girls soccer had quite a season! These athletes put in so much time and dedication, great job Huskies! Girls Varsity made it all the way to the first round of the Championship, finishing up their season with a record of 8-4. During that game, however, they sadly lost to the Liberty Lions, but nonetheless they still put up a fight.

While boys varsity didn’t make it to the championship, they had an amazing season as well. Their record was 3-8, holding their heads high even when it was hard. Both boys and girls JV, JV B, and FR/SO did an extraordinary job as well!

Since their season has come to an end, how does it compare to last season? Before the comparison, it must be taken into account that the teams are composed of different athletes and many factors changed because of the pandemic. That said, the girls this season made it to the first round, losing to Liberty. Last season, they made it to the final, but lost to Chaparral. The boys this season didn’t make it to the championships at all, but last season they made it to the semifinals, losing to Chaparral like the girls. Even though Hamilton soccer as a whole ranked higher last season, that doesn’t change the fact that these athletes are extremely talented. Even with COVID-19 and the many struggles that surfaced, they persevered and worked through it. Great job, and go Huskies!
