It has been four weeks since baseball season started and the Huskies have been playing hard every single game. The Huskies defeated Basha once again with a score of 9-5 thanks to a strong start. The Huskies scored on a single by Brock Selvidge in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Prince DeBoskie in the second inning. On Basha’s side they scored four runs in the seventh inning, but the Huskies still managed to pull out the victory. Tanner Smith, Tyler Clementz, and Jordan Vigil each drove in runs during the inning. In the bottom of the first inning, Hamilton tied things up at one. Selvidge singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. The Huskies then pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second inning DeBoskie’s sac fly scored one run for the Huskies. 

The Huskies then found themselves tailing three runs in the sixth inning.  With offense in the inning being led by Josh Tiedemann and Logan Saloman, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Kole Klecker was credited for the win for the Huskies. The hurler went four innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out five, and walking zero.  Saloman and Jackson Smith entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. The Huskies racked up 13 hits on the day. Selvidge, Tiedemann, and Saloman all managed multiple hits for Hamilton, Selvidge went 3-for- 4 at the plate to lead the Huskies in hits. The game ended on an amazing note with the Huskies walking away with yet another win against Basha with a score of 9-5. 

After a great game against the Bears, the Huskies went up against the Brophy Broncos on April 6 where the Huskies took the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Brophy. The game was tied at two with Hamilton Huskies batting in the top of the fifth when Gavin Turley hit a solo homer. The pitching was strong on both sides. Brock Selvidge struck out five, while Brophy College Prep pitchers sat down seven. Selvidge was credited with the victory for Hamilton Huskies. The hurler lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one. John Clasen took the loss for Brophy College Prep. The hurler allowed four hits and three runs over four and a third innings, striking out four. The Huskies hit one home run on the day. Turley went for the long ball in the fifth inning. Luke Thiele, Alex Hernandez, Selvidge, and Turley each collected one hit to lead the Huskies. The Huskies won their game against the Broncos with a score of 3-2.

 The Huskies next game will be against the Broncos, once again, on April 9 which will be a home game commencing at 3:45pm. Best of luck Huskies!
