The Huskies won Friday’s April 12 home conference game against the Brophy Broncos by a score of 14-7. Soon after their game against Brophy they were scheduled to play against Pinnacle on April 13th. The Huskies grabbed the lead in the eighth inning for their victory over Pinnacle. Even if they did lead late in the game they still managed to get a victory of 6-5. The game was tied at five with the Huskies batting in the top of the eighth when Tanner Holland’s sac fly scored one run,, despite allowing Pinnacle to score three runs in the third inning. Pinnacle’s big inning was driven by a single by John Lauinger and a sac fly by Luke Newman. In the top of the seventh inning, the Huskies tied things up at five. Brock Selvidge grounded out, scoring one run while Josh Tiedemann was credited for the win. The ace surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. 

The pitcher for Pinnacle surrendered one run on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking zero. Aidan Allen from Pinnacle allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out when Selvidge started the game for the Huskies. The hurler surrendered five runs on four hits over six innings, striking out 12 and walking zero. Tiedemann led the Huskies with four hits in four at bats. Hamilton Huskies stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. DJ Barrett led the way with two. With a very intense game under their belt, the week filled with games was not over. They were scheduled to face up against Liberty where they experienced their second loss of the season with a score of 9-2. They are scheduled to go up against Desert Ridge on April 16 at Desert Ridge High where the game will commence at 6:00 pm. Good luck Huskies!

Alongside the start of baseball the start of softball also began, so far this season our female Huskies have won a total of seven games and lost a total of five games. With their most recent game against Pinnacle the girls walked away with a final score of 7-1. Followed by their game against Pinnacle they went up against the Perry Pumas on April 15 where they had a final score of 13-7. The girls are playing hard and will be facing up against the Basha Bears at home on April 20; the game will commence at 3:45 pm. Best of luck Huskies!
