Josh Tiedemann drove in five on three hits to lead our Huskies past O’Connor with a score of 12-8 on Monday May 3. Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. The Huskies collected 11 hits and O’Connor had ten. After O’Connor scored three runs in the top of the fifth, the Huskies answered with three of their own. The Huskies answered back when Roch Cholowsky hit a solo homer and Tiedemann singled a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Hamilton then took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Cholowsky hit a solo homer, Gavin Turley then doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Ryan Kucherak’s sac fly scored one run for Hamilton, and Tiedemann homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Brock Selvidge was credited for the win earned by the Huskies. Selvidge went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out four and walking one. Tiedemann and Logan Saloman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game.Tiedemann recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for the Huskies. Hamilton tallied three home runs that day while Cholowsky had a dinger in the fourth and fifth innings. Tiedemann went for the long ball in the fourth inning, as well as the Huskies talliling 11 hits. Tiedemann, Alex Hernandez, Luke Thiele, and Cholowsky all collected multiple hits for the Huskies. Tiedemann went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Huskies in hits. The Huskies won that game with a final score of 12-8, nice job Huskies! Good luck in the State Playoffs boys!

The Huskies then faced off against Mountain Ridge which was their final game of the season. The Huskies had a lead In the sixth inning. The game was tied at two with the Huskies batting in the bottom of the sixth when Logan Saloman singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. The pitching was strong on both sides however, the Huskies got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run for Hamilton. Mountain Ridge evened things up at two in the top of the fifth inning when Aidan Bever lined out, driving in a run. Jackson Smith got credited for the win for Hamilton. The hurler lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. Grant DeGraffenreid threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on one hit over one inning, striking out two and walking one. Kole Klecker started the game for Hamilton. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking zero. Roch Cholowsky, Alex Hernandez, Saloman, and Gavin Turley each collected one hit to lead the Huskies. Their final game resulted in a 3-2 victory, a very close game to say the least. These Huskies had an amazing season finishing off with a seasonal score of 18-2. Amazing job and good luck next season Huskies!

Next for our softball team they also went up against O’Connor High where they won with a very close score of 8-7. Followed by that game, they went up against their last opponent of the regular season, Mountain Ridge High School. The game against Mountain Ridge was an away game that took place on April 5. The Huskies had a final score of 7-0! The Lady Huskies finished off their season with a final record of 15-5. Amazing work this season Lady Huskies and best of luck in the State Playoffs!
