Husky Football Off to a Strong Start

Drew Boyd

The Hamilton Huskies 2021 varsity team is going to be very good. The Huskies offense will be led by their Senior quarterback Nicco Marchiol. He is ranked as the third best in the state and 22 nationally out of the quarterbacks. He is committed to West Virginia. We might see Marchiol throw some dimes to Chrisitan Anaya who is receiving offers from schools like Montana State, Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado. Another wide receiver for Hamilton is Trè Spivey who is a 3 star receiving offers from NAU and New Mexico. Tight end Michael Masunas is a 3 star, commited to Michigan state. Offensive lineman, Grayson Stoval, is a 3 star IOL who is going to go to University of Arizona

The defensive side of the ball is stacked as well, led by 3 star Arizona commit Russell Davis II, a monster on the d-line. The whole defense is solid and one of the main factors propelling Hamilton to its number two ranking last year only behind their rival school Chandler High School. The 2021 Huskies varsity team is without a doubt going to be fun to watch, however they will not be fun to play against. The Huskies are looking to top their last year’s record of 6-1. This is going to be tough knowing they have to go 7-0 however this Hamilton team can do it.

Hamilton played its first scrimmage on Wednesday Aug. 5, 2021 at 6 p.m. and they looked like they could be a problem for the other 6A teams this year. Their first game of the season is against the Desert Ridge Jaguars, who had a record of 1-5 last year. Hopefully the Huskies can make them start 0-1 this year.
