Stacking the Deck for the Battle Against Bishop Gorman

Drew Boyd

This Friday, Hamilton is set to play Bishop Gorman at home. This Bishop Gorman team is traveling from Las Vegas to play our Varsity Huskies. Bishop Gorman is a highly rated team in Nevada and is going to be met by a superteam from Arizona. This game will be televised on ESPN.

In last week’s battle against the Colts, this Huskies team was able to escape with a W. The final score of that game was 23-13 in favor of the Huskies. There were a lot of big performances against the Colts. To start is Christian Anaya who  had 7 receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. Anaya also played on the defensive side of the ball where he would rack up two tackles, a deflection and a forced fumble. Nicco Marchiol played well as always in the game against Casteel. Marchiol threw 12/21, 142 yards and a touchdown. Logan Krei played well too (136 yards and a touchdown).

The defense was doing their part as well. Two players in particular were balling; these two were Russell Davis II (Deuce) and Chandler Davis. Deuce had five tackles, two sacks, and two QB hurries. Chandler had a pass deflection, 4 sacks, and 12 total tackles. The Huskies were really locking up and had 2 forced fumbles (one Anaya, and one Timothy Weddell). This Huskies team was also blowing everything up in the backfield. They had 10 total tackles for losses.

Hamilton is preparing for their next competition which happens to be this Friday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. They will be playing Bishop Gorman which is a team who is coming all the way from Las Vegas to play. This game will be featured on ESPN. Let’s hope the Huskies continue their hot streak.
