Husky Girls Basketball Team wins The First Tournament of This Season

The Hamilton Varsity Girls Basketball team won the first tournament this season on Nov. 22 through Nov. 24. These were their first three games this year and it’s already off to an incredible start. The team’s first game, on Nov. 22 at 3 p.m., was located at Williams Field High School and ended with a score of 72-49. Only one foul was called against the Huskies the entire game, whereas their opponent, the Poston Butte Broncos, had a total of 30 fouls during the game.

Hamilton’s second game was on Nov. 23 against the Mesquite Wildcats. The Huskies beat them too. The score was 51-49, obviously a lot closer than the first game, but it still ended with a win for the Hamilton side. Savanna Creal, one notable player in the game, made five two-pointers, two three-pointers, which came out to a total of 16 points to the Huskies side of the scoreboard. Creal also had a nose for the ball charting three steals and six rebounds for the game.

The very last game on Nov. 24 was another blowout for the Hamilton Huskies. Playing against the Williams Field Black Hawks resulted in an incredible score of 64-41. Creal was one of the star players in this game too, scoring a total of 22 points, and  five steals as well as two assists. Reanna Farrington also had a great game that Wednesday. She made one out of the two three-pointers and two two-pointers. She also had two steals and a rebound.

The outcome of this tournament is a great starting point for the Huskies and they are now starting their season with a three game win streak. Their next game will be on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. against the Chaparral Firebirds. This Husky home game will hopefully mean another win added to their streak, and because of the Firebirds’ record of 0-4, it’s likely to do just this.
