The Hamilton Varsity Girls Soccer And Basketball Teams make The State Playoffs

Gwyn Bressler

After the last game of the season resulting in a Husky win, the Hamilton Varsity Girls Soccer team makes it to the first game of State Playoffs, only to be cut short by a depressing loss. The game took place at Perry High School against these Pumas on Feb. 16. Maybe it was the nerves, or the excitement , but this game officially marks the end of this soccer team’s season.  This season, the Hamilton Varsity team leader was without a doubt Hannah Mulholland. Mulholland attained nine goals  this season and three assists.

The Hamilton Husky Girls Basketball team, who also made the playoffs, ended up winning their first playoff game. On Feb. 16, the Huskies put an end to the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers and emerged victorious in a comfortable win, the game ended in a score of 58-46. This allows these girls to move forward in the playoffs and play their round two opponent. Their next game will be on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. They will be playing against the Desert Vista Thunder. Hopefully, this team can survive this game.

With Spring Sports coming up and teams practicing, the Hamilton Girls Varsity Softball team has the opportunity to make their high school proud. Last year, the Husky Varsity Softball team maintained a solid record of 16-6 with a 73 percent win. Let’s see if this new set of girls can make this record look pedestrian. The first game this spring is on Feb. 23 at 3:45 p.m. This home game is a non-section against the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions. Good luck to this team.
