Coming out on Top Against The Horses

April 13, the Hamilton Huskies Varsity Baseball Team went up against Brophy College Prep. The Huskies absolutely decimated the Broncos, defeating them by ten whole points. The ending score was 12 to two. Hamilton won thanks to the strong start they had at the beginning of the game. In the first inning, the Hamilton Huskies scored one home run by Gavin Turley and a double by Kole Klecker. In the fourth inning, Hamilton scored six points. Logan Saloman, Ryan Kucherak and Liam Wilson powered the big inning with runs batted in (RBI). Earning the win for Hamilton, Saloman went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out six and walking zero. Stone Williamson allowed three hits and five runs over two innings, striking out two. Hamilton got a total of eight hits. The only time that Brophy College Prep scored was in the first inning. No team scored in the second inning.. During the third inning, Hamilton scored two points. In the fourth inning, the Huskies scored six points. Hamilton scored one point in the fifth and final inning.

The next game the Huskies played was on April 14. This game took place at Hamilton High School and was against Casteel. The Huskies came out victorious against the Colts. Hamilton won by nine points with the final score being 12 to three. This was almost the same score as the game against the Broncos. Ryan Kucherak carried the Huskies with his four RBI’s in this game. Within the first inning, Hamilton scored thanks to a sacrifice fly by Josh Tiedmann. Kucherak also scored a home run. Roch Cholowsky scored the only point in the second inning. The third inning was crazy with Hamilton getting seven runs. Prince DeBoskie, Cholowsky and Kucherak each had RBIs in this inning. These plays helped propel Hamilton’s score higher above Casteel. Leading the Huskies on the mound, Kole Klecker allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out four. Carson Johnson and Will Shelor entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Linden Reaburn took the loss for Casteel. This hurler allowed six hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out one. Hamilton had a total of two home runs in this game. DeBoskie had a four-bagger in the third inning, and Kucherak had a long ball in the first inning. Hamilton has now beaten both horse themed schools which both did not oppose a challenge to the Huskies. Hamilton’s next game is against Brophy College Prep. Seeing these past games against these schools, Hamilton will most likely come out on top. This game takes place on April 20, at 4 p.m.and takes place at Brophy College Prep putting the Broncos at a home field advantage.
