On Saturday April 30, Hamilton’s Varsity Baseball Team played against San Luis in the playoff game. Hamilton came out on top and stepped all over San Luis. The final score was 12 to one with Hamilton having 12 times the score San Luis had. Hamilton started things off strong with Ryan Kucherak hitting a homer on a 3-2 count, scoring four runs. In the second inning, Kole Klecker hit a homer, scoring four runs for Hamilton once again. Once again in the third inning, Hamilton scored four runs. This was because Liam Wilson, Roch Cholowsky and Josh Tiedemann who each all had RBIs in the frame. Logan Saloman led the Huskies to victory on the hill. The ace went five innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out four and walking one. This game put Hamilton into the State Championships.

The first game of the State Championship was against Chaparral. This game was on May 3, and it took place at Hamilton High School. Right off the bat, Chaparral scored four runs in the first inning. This head start lead sealed Hamilton’s loss. Prince DeBoskie hit a triple in the second inning. Hamilton took the loss this game going five to zero, favoring Chaparral. It’s okay that Hamilton lost because this Championship is double elimination. This means that Hamilton needs to lose twice in order to get eliminated.

Hamilton came back into the Championships by winning against Corona Del Sol. On Thursday May 6, Hamilton played against Corona Del Sol. Hamilton got straight to the point. Klecker hit a home run on a 1-1, scoring three runs all within the first inning. This put the score at three to zero0 in Hamilton’s favor. In the second inning, Corona scored one run, but the next inning, Hamilton scored two. One of these was because of Tiedemann. He hit a homer and scored for Hamilton. In the fourth inning, Gavin Turley hit a homer giving Hamilton one run. This put the score at six to one, in Hamilton’s Favor. Corona thought they could come back, but the early head start cemented Hamilton’s win. Corona scored two more runs in the fifth inning, but in the sixth inning, Hamilton put up three runs. Turley once again hit a home run helping Hamilton’s sky rocket pass Corona. The final score was nine to three, with Hamilton getting triple the amount of runs that Corona had.
