Time does fly and like that, Hamilton Girls Volleyball is already completing their second week of the season. The Huskie girls concluded their second week of games on Saturday, Sept. 10 after two games during the week and their second weekend tournament where the varsity team played several other schools from all over the valley. The team ended the week with a standing of 17-2 after playing a total of 19 matches in the past couple of weeks.

Last Wednesday, Sept. 6 was not only the teams first game of the second week but their first away game. The Huskies played Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, concluding the games with a sweep on all three levels. Varsity’s game ended three sets with scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-19.

Coming back home, the girls played their next game of the week against the Pinnacle High School team. Hamilton’s varsity girls concluded with another sweep! Harner was recognized as the games Player of the Match after aiding the team in their win with 10 kills and 12 digs.

Following the mid-week matches, the Lady Huskies played in their second tournament of the season hosted by Westwood at Red Mountain High School. The tournament began on Friday, Sept. 9 and finished up the next day on Saturday, Sept. 10 in two days full of playing.

Playing against Westwood High School, Thatcher High School, Desert Ridge High School, Mesa High School, Dimond High School, Millennium High School, Perry High School, Gilbert High School and Shadow Ridge, the girls lost only 2 games, making those games their first losses of the season thus far. The losses among their other wins were to Millennium High School and Gilbert High School. Both the games were still pretty close, losing both games 2-1. During the Millennium High School game, Hamilton took the first set of the game before the next two sets were scored at 25-17 and 16-4 in Millennium’s favor. Whereas, at the Gilbert game the Huskies took a loss in the first set, came back in the second set and sadly lost in the third set, giving Gilbert the best of the three sets.

The Hamilton High School Girls Volleyball team will go on to play two away games in the next week, Monday, Sept. 12 against the Shadow Ridge High School team and against Highland High School on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
