Cross Country Races In the Heat

Temperatures rose up to 95 degrees for the final races before Sept. 10. Fountain Hills meet for the Hamilton Huskies and they managed to have an extraordinary performance with a bunch of personal records including both boys and girls. Our freshman Huskies started their respective races off first . Huskies Adam Slater and Abbey Schultz debuted in the 5k run as high schoolers and finished in the top 10 respectively. Adam finished third amongst all the racers and Abbey finished in place 10 out of 140 .

      Next up on the radar are the sophomore boys . They did pretty well and paired well with finishing in the top two out of 10 .  Sophomore Chase Markunas finished Third  overall and also finished with a new personal record of 16:55.4 in the 5k run. Another sophomore on the radar was Theo McDaid fishing with Sixth overall in his respective race and a new personal record of 17:13.8 .  Our Junior Huskies also competed in their own respective races too . Junior Jaeden Vogt ran a new personal record of 20:13.5 itching really close to break the 20-minute barrier .

          Andrew Gibby , a senior, led the way with an overall win for the senior races and the best time throughout the whale day. He ran a 25:43 .2 and that was also his new PR for distance. Senior Jacob Slater  finished second overall for the Huskies and also placed seventh in the senior race with a time of 21:31.8 . On to the Lady huskies , Sage Patzer led the huskies team to an Eight overall finish in the senior race while also running a time of 19:58.2 , while other husky Lily Orban finished in the top 20 and ran herself a new pr time of 21:32.8 .  The next meet up for the Huskies is  Fountain Hills which is on Saturday September 10 .Our varsity teams will be competing together for the first time this season as they stack some of the best teams in Arizona.
