Hamilton Girls Volleyball has had a very successful season so far as they come up on the end of the first quarter of the school year. However, this upcoming period between quarter one and quarter two is not necessarily a time of rest for these girls as they will go on to play three games over the fall break.

Looking at the season thus far, the Husky team is currently at 23-2 before they go on to play their last game before the fall break. This has the girls still ranked second in the Arizona Conference 6A just below the Corona Del Sol Volleyball team. With only two losses under their belt out of their 25 games thus far, things are looking to only go up for the girls!

The previous week, the Huskies played a total of three games against Desert Vista High School, Mesa High School and Chandler High School. The team secured three wins to add to their game total! The Desert Vista game was won in four sets, the Huskies winning 3-1 with set scores of 25-15, 16-25, 25-19 and a close final set with a score of 26-24. Following the game at Desert Vista, the Huskies returned home with a sweep of the Mesa High School team. The three sets had scores of 25-18, 25-9 and 25-11. Similarly, the girls volleyball team traveled to Chandler, concluding the week with another sweep. In the game of three sets, there were final scores of 25-15, 25-13 and 25-14.

For their final week of games, the Lady Huskies played the Basha High School team on Tuesday, Sept. 27 and will go on to play the next day, Wednesday, Sep. 28 against the Perry High School team. The Basha High School game was a success for the girls, a sweep for not only varsity but the junior varsity team and freshman team. The varsity team ended 3-0 with final set scores of 25-13, 15-18 and 25-13. Though this game was a sweep for the girls, the upcoming game against Perry High School could pose as one of their bigger challenges.

The Perry team stands a little closer to Hamilton’s current ranking, at 19-5. This current score has the Perry Pumas at sixth in the Arizona Conference 6A, carrying with them a pretty strong team to go up against the Huskies. No matter the outcome, the game is looking to be a rather exciting and eventful one!

After the Perry game, the fall break will begin and Hamilton will play in three games over that period. Playing Wednesday, Oct. 5 against Xavier College Prep, Wednesday, October 12 against Mountain View High School and Thursday, Oct. 13 against Chandler High School, the girls will hopefully come back to school with a few more wins to start off the second quarter with!
