A Look Back at Baseball

Hamilton baseball is back for another season after such an incredible one the previous year. And because of this, much is to be anticipated for what is to come this year as a follow up. Last year the team took the win in the championship, winning against Chandler in the finals with a score of 11-1.

The team played an incredibly strong season with 29 wins to only four losses. Because of this, the Huskies were not only ranked first in their 6A division, but first in Arizona and 10th nationally. This made them the only Arizona team to rank in the top 10 on a national level in that season.

One of their best performances of the season came from player Gavin Turley, a senior last year as a part of the 2022 graduating class. Turley finished his high school baseball career ranked number one in Arizona for home runs, and he was nationally ranked at 14th in the 2022 home run stats leaderboard, with 15 home runs within that one season. Since then, he has committed to Oregon State and can be seen playing on their baseball team this year as their season starts up.

With a few graduated seniors on their previous roster, there are a few new faces on the team this year that will hopefully bring some new talent to strengthen the already powerful team. The team will kick off the 2022-2023 season with a game on Wednesday, Feb. 22 against the Hoover Buccaneer team from Hoover, Alabama. This game could give an idea into what the season will look like for the Hamilton team.
