The Police used some unknown technology to stop a car chase

It was initially perceived that police would use a PIT maneuver to stop the chase. A PIT maneuver is a technique where a pursuing car will force a runaway car to turn sideways making the driver halt as they lose control

However police used a tethered-like device that connected their car to the one fleeing. The driver tried to accelerate but was unable to get away. 

When stopped, police fired non-lethal rounds and brought in K-9 bringing the driver into custody.
