Girls Basketball 6A Region Champs

Adam Worthy, General Staff

The girls basketball regular season has officially come to a close as they went out on a good note and defeated Xavier College Prep 38-36! Coach Neider has put together a great group of girls who’s only obstacle of winning State seems to be themselves. Kayla Fullen (12) said “From the start of this basketball season we were expected to be one of the top teams in the state. We started off the season with a loss to Pinnacle, which was tough. However, after beating the #1 team Xavier, we finished the regular season #1 in the state and are entering playoffs as the #1 seed in hopes to win the state championship this year and finish the season with a ring.”

Raelin Denning (12) said “I think the season is going well and we working well as a team to get wins. We need to keep up our intensity at practice and in games to keep winning. We definitely need to improve on rebounding and communicating on the court, but other than that we’re doing great as a team”. This will definitely be key as the girls look to continue this streak heading into the tournament. They will be playing the 8th seed which is still yet to be determined. Go Huskies!
